Happy Handball

Welcome to my blog, this week I am blogging about handball.

Handball is a sport where you have to hit the ball in your square, then in another person´s square. I play handball with Ollie, Violet, Lucy, Claire and Olivia. The girls always rage quit and throw my handball under the fence. Sometimes the girls play by the rules, but most of the time they argue.

Have you every played handball?

Captivating Crossword

Welcome to my blog, I just started the Summer Learning Journey. The first activity I did was the crossword about the ocean. It was really challenging, but it was very fun as well. It took around 10 minutes and I am happy I decided to do this activity. Below is the finished crossword. Have you ever done a crossword?

The Olympian Hamish Kerr

This week on Wednesday week 10 we were privileged to have Hamish Kerr come to our school. If you do not know who Hamish kerr is, he is the man who won the gold medal in the 2024 olympic games high jump. Hamish Kerr is also a New Zealander and he grew up in Auckland. He once jumped 2.36 metres and that is his personal best. I really liked how he told us his journey to becoming No.1 in the world for high jump. He told us a funny story about when he was little he drove his bike into a tree, then his sister started laughing and she fell out of a tree. I really feel inspired by Hamish Kerr and I might like to be a high jumper one day.

What is your favourite olympic sport?

Super Seuss

This week we had Nasda preform Seussical the Musical.

Seussical the musical is a musical where lots of Doctor Seuss books are mashed up together to make one big story. I think there was Yertle the turtle, Green eggs and ham, Horton hears a who, the cat in the hat and 2 more storys.

I liked how the Wikersham Monkeys were always energetic just like the role of the animal they are playing.

Something I found interesting was all the characters from different books were all linked together.

I thought the orange Wickersham Monkey was realy cool because he was doing backflips from standing.

I hope all the actors are proud of themselves because the show was realy nice.

Have you every read a Doctor Seuss book?

Super Sport

Hi, welcome to my blog. This week we made new sports for the olympics, we got put into groups and we had to have at least one girl and one boy and two wildcards. We had to make everything from scratch with our amazing imaginations.  We made a realy good uniform, that sadly I can not show you, but also we worked together realy well and made a fully playable sport. I think we could do better at mixing ideas, because we did bad in that. Anyways it was very fun and we all enjoyed it. If you made a sport what would your idea be?

Excellent Epro8

Hey welcome back to my blog. On monday I spent two and a half hours in the hall doing the Epro8. We got separated into teams and we had a team name. My team name was The Capybaras, and in my team was Leo Wilson, Hunter and Isreal.

We made a Queen´s throne with foot rests that could move up and down with a flick of a lever. We also started a puppet show base, but we could not finish it. When the time was up we came third, with one hundred and fifty pionts.

Have you ever done Epro8?

Math Data

Welcome back to my Blog. Today I have been collecting data in the class and making charts with the data. I made a Line Chart, a Pie Chart, a Bar Graph and a Dot Plot. This is my work.

Awesome Opera

This week, the New Zealand Opera came to our school and showed us their performance , The Elixir of Love.

The actors played these people, Nemorino-fry cook, Adina-rich and beutiful daughter of shop owner, Belcore-famous handsome actor and Dulcamara-salesman. I think Nemorino was a Baritone (middle) opera singer, Adina was a Soprano (high) Belcore was a Bass (low) and Dulcamara was a Baritone as well.

Something that I enjoyed about this performance was the set and how it looked like a real fish & chips shop, I also loved how funny the opera was.

Something that I found interesting about this performance was it was orignally sung in latin. I found this interesting because I didn´t know where opera came from.

Something that I learned about opera was that the singers can break a mirror with their voice. I loved this fact because I thought that this only happend in cartoons.

Below are some pictures of the opera.

Have you ever been to an opera, if you have, did you find it interesting?
